Recently I across several more 3/4" U-Matic videotapes of my old NightLife Show which ran on cable TV in the 1980s. This episode is about electric toy trains made by Dorfan. Kerry, along with photographer Rick Zimmer, show a promo film made by Dorfan Trains. They were a family owned toy company that produced these trains from 1924-1934. They were promoted as educational as they were easy to disassemble. Customers were encouraged to take them apart to see how worked. Dorfan, in their prime, employed 150 people but were unable to survive the Depression.
This program was made during my series final year. I see that I had grown a beard & was at my heaviest. Ouch! The opening title sequence was different than previous years as well. I hope you enjoy these old toy trains.
Air Date: March 27, 1987
"Up in the mountains of New Jersey" -- haha, that's from where I'm from. Amazingly, "Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco" still exists today... their web site says they've been in continuous operation as a private camp for Boy Scouts since the summer of 1927.
