Coastal storm with 60-70 mph gusts hits Newport, RI - grounding many boats. This 2 minute video captures just one small sailboat beached at Kings Park.
Everyone has the wrong impression of salvage rights. Just because the boat is on the beach, it's not for salvage. 1st, it's a regestered vessel, someone ownes it. The owner would have to give you salvage rights. Now if it was not regestered that would be another story. If someones boat got loose and did damage to your property, you can seize it till restitution is made. i.e. insurance info. and such
@vivitar45 Wait a minute. 2007. Bush was still president. I'm surprised him or Cheney didn't send someone over to steal it. Bush would have taken it and sold it and Cheney would have used it for target practice if they had known.
All things aside, that boat owner got pretty lucky there!!

That is one lucky boat, had "parked" itself few meters to the right it would be in million pieces.

That fancy boat looks like a puppy trying to hide under it's mother. Hell, from where it's at, you just lift it out with a crane from land.
