This is the Applegate method of "point shoulder." It is shot with threat focus and can be pushed out to some pretty decent distances with some practice

  • @hvuu Because he is using a Glock. It is a striker fired pistol. Triggers on traditional hammer designs (Beretta, SIG, 1911s) can be dry fired repeatedly without racking the slide. The slide must cycle back on the striker in order for the trigger to reset and fire again. In essence, he is mimicking live fire operation. I have a Glock 22 myself. I must do this when I dry fire practice. Hope this answers your question! :)

  • works better if you take a step forward or backward, like throwing baseball.Gives me quicker more accurate groups.mike

  • Oh, I see. He is also performing the trigger pull shot as he's drawing.

  • you have to when the pistol empty. You wouldn't have to if it was a doulble action pistol.

  • Why is there slide racking at the end of each pull.??

  • Col. Applegate.....great instructor. I've been trying to incorporate some point shooting in my training.

  • Well done:)
