  • People often raise them and release them and they arent quite equipped to deal with being in the wild. Having no fear of predators (humans) is a sure sign. We have one here that is very friendly, wouldnt last a day in the wild.

  • @waterfowlrescue Ahhh, is that what happens? I didn't realize that. I don't know anyone around here that raises them, I think it was just wild...anyways thanks for your post. Thanks for what you do for our wild birds!

  • in my experience Quails have been very shy and low profile birds, glad to see some that are curious about civilization...

  • @R5H4D0W I didn't realize that, Well I sort of guessed they were shy, since I have never seen them here, That's great you have the interest and travel to places to see birds. It makes for an interesting trip, when you stop and "smell the roses" or in your case...."stop and video the birds" haha.. Have a great new year...Kym

  • @KymsPink59Cadi R5H4D0W was once an online name I used while playing COD long ways back, I am not the R5H4D0W that was playing CS even more years before. Basically a code namely "R Shadow." I had forgotten why it was selected because I have no Rs in my name.

  • @dawsonpastorel Was Quail native to the land they were released in? If not, other than winter and the lack of food there may be other things that must be taken into account, the local feral cat population is a good place to start. Quails typically cannot see at night, if flushed it will stumble around and get itself hurt, making it easy prey the next morning. Woodcock is rare, and finding one is not easy. I'd love to find one again but I'm now working full time... indoors :(

  • @KymsPink59Cadi for me that would be a big deal , where i live (illinois) we dont have any wild ones but they are realeased at the campground but only live for a month or 2. i have resently bought a $80 incubator and am going to buy 50 bobwhite quail eggs which are realy cheap to try and restore them in my area. i love birds.

  • @KymsPink59Cadi woodcock are similar to quail but have a long beak like a hummingbird

  • @R5H4D0W out where i go camping we dont have any quail but 700 are realeased in november for hunting but none have survuved the winter but we do have a lot of woodcock they are not hunted and have never been realeased

  • @KymsPink59Cadi R[esurrected] Shadow... back in the days of RPG shooting games I came up with this, I copied it over to youtube but I never used the account much until this past year or two.

  • @R5H4D0W Oh great you are a birdwatcher...well that explains it all...thanks for watching. I don't know if I have ever seen a woodcock either.. I'll go and look it up to see what they are all about...thanks for watching... BTW what does your online name stand for? Until next time...Kym
