This is a short 3 minute video that explains how Tysabri works, it's excellent. There is also TONS of Tysabri information on the www.Tysabri.com website. If anyone has questions about Tysabri and/or this video, please send me a message & I will try to help you as best I can, but please, just remember, I'm not a doctor. All my best to everyone, Lauren :)

  • Jerseygrl15, I remember you from a different website, and "you all" are in a minority of patients that still refuse to acknowledge the truth about Tysabri. Furthermore, the FDA medical panel cannot be paid off as that would make our govrmnt liable for approving drugs that show no efficacy but rather diminished life instead. Elan is not the manufacturer of Tysabri here in the US, .... Biogen is responsible for manufacturing, promoting, selling, educating the medical community etc. re: Tysabri.

  • Delete this Video it is out of date the Autoimmune theory is not proven look up CCSVI You also forgot to tell people that you have killed many people who got PML by taking Tysabri one of my friends has now got it from taking Tysabri

  • I'm not going to delete anything, what makes you think you have the right to tell me or anyone else what to do? You obviously know nothing about Tysabri or its mechanism of action. I'm happy that you found relief from your Liberation procedure, but I am well aware that it does not work on everyone. Furthermore, neither me or Tysabri has not killed anyone. Tysabri does NOT cause PML; a severely compromised immune system which activates a dormant JC virus is what causes PML.

  • Unfortunately Valsam75 you are terribly misinformed.

Tysabri IS a targeted therapy in that it is a Selective Adhesion Molecule that prevents a majority (not all) of immune cells from crossing the BBB & entering the CNS & even if some immune cells are able to enter the CNS, they are migrated away from our myelin. THIS is how Tysabri works, it does not DEACTIVATE anything.

Only a severely suppressed immune system can cause PML & that is IF one carries the dormant JC virus. Lauren

  • Kristen, I am well aware that the brain & spinal cord are connected & both comprise the CNS. I was answering the prior poster's comments. Antibodies produced by the body must enter the body in order to fight off certain infections, such as the flu, etc. It is the inflammation cells which cross the blood brain barrier that should not be entering the brain or spinal cord which produce "silent lesions" or actual lesions which eventually show up on MRIs.

  • This doesn't explain how MS attacks the spinal cord. Many people don't have MS in the brain.

  • Entrophy56, FYI: this video explains how Tysabri works to block a majority of the damaging T cells from entering the CNS (Central Nervous System), which includes the spinal cord & which can cause ongoing damage. This video is not meant to explain how MS attacks the spinal cord.

By the way, Tysabri has been shown to demonstrate sustained improvements in functional outcomes & is the only approved MS therapy to show significant slowing of disability progression as well.

    Lauren :)

  • THANK YOU for posting this! I've been looking for this since seeing it in a seminar last fall and just happened upon it by chance today.

  • There is now a Reformed Multiple Sclerosis Society that is urging for the medical community to check out Dr Paolo Zamboni's discovery that MS is caused by poor blood drainage from the brain. The answer to restore this blood drainage from the brain is angioplasty. Watch the before & afters for this surgery called CCSVI on youtube- simply amazing. In just 24 hours a world of difference. Standing on one foot eyes closed in just 24 hours!

  • How can Tysabri help someone like me after 30 years of damage caused by multiple schlerosis?

Also, by blocking immune cells, will I get additionally sick, unable to fight day to day infections? Caryle

  • @msladyinca Yeah, we all know about the damaged caused by tysabri. I can't even believe the FDA still allows it on the market. Guess Elan must have made some huge payoffs.
