  • False. 1934 wasn't even the hottest year in the US; it was the third hottest, after 1998 and 2006.

    And even if 1934 were the hottest year in the US, you'll note that the US makes up a huge two percent of the world's total surface area. It was cooler in the rest of the world, and 1934 was only the 47th hottest year worldwide.
