Eye Diagramming with an Agilent Infiniium Real Time Scope

This brief video shows how to setup a "real time eye" diagram with an Agilent Infiniium real time scope. The High Speed Serial Data analysis license is required: www.agilent.com/find/SDA

The specific scope shown here is a 9000 series. It will be the same for a 90,000 or 90,000X, and very similar for an older 80,000 or 54850 series Infiniium.

Hi,

If I recall correctly, the signal generator I used in this video was not capable of any pre- or de-emphasis, and I don't think I would have sued that anyway. In the setup, you can tell it to do transition bits only, or only bits with pre-emphasis, or both. in the setup, clikc on help for more info...

"Some users may want to probe the transmitter and then estimate what the signal will look like to the receiver. You can do this through the De-emphasis feature found in this dialog box."
