Don't be disappointed in yourself....I sometimes go through the same feelings when I look at other artist's work. It's best not to compare, just do your own thing....:)

how long have you been drawing?

I can remember being about 5 years old and laying on the carpet, drawing pictures of scroll work and horses. My mother was very supportive and bought me a lot of art instruction books. Walter E. Foster books on drawing horses, figure drawing and faces. John

is there something other than spray fixative to protect the drawings from smudgging like a plastic or a varnish that can be put inside the sketchbook?

Hello: Spray fix works the best, but I use it outside because of the strong smell. Tissue paper between the pages helps. John
