No she's not gay, and by gay you must mean lesbian. Is everyone on here dumb? Black female divas have a huge following by the gay population! Whitney, Jennifer Hudson, Deborah Cox, Donna Summer! These ladies advocate for their fans, many of them being the LGBTQ population.

Why do people keep saying she's gay. Just because they attend a gay festival does not mean they are gay. Gay men have always gravitated towards female sings, they have a tolerance for female performers, Liza Minelli, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Jennifer Holiday, Donna Summer, Martha Wash, and a host of other female performers...and those female performers recognize their following of gay, straight and otherwise fans. Attend a gay festival & see the fun & excitement is has to offer.

@sdavis197 This is true. The producers didn't think this was the image they wanted for an "American Idol". She went on to persevere and do well despite that mess.
