possible interpretation...we do many things that hurt ourselves - i.e. smoke, low self esteem, overwork, overstudy (metephor=suicide). But we do these things because our environment forces us to- parents, school, media, work etc (metaphor=robot). So we are therefore forced to step into the noose - execution.
