You talking to me? You talking to me? (think Robert Duval's performance in "Taxi")
In 1979 I had 13 surfaces of amalgam. When I read the Gay et al. study that year I had mine taken out and removed all amalgams from my wife, her two sons, my father, my two brothers, my entire staff at no charge. None of my nieces or nephews had any.
I think they are dangerous to a much larger percentage of the population than the advocates admit (1%) and thus should be banned.
WAIT WAIT! don't do anything until you watch "Safer Removal" on my channel.
Of course the FDA approves these toxic plugs. They work for their master. As long as we allow trade associations and industry to buy elections then we will have the best legislation money can buy, for the industry, by industry and because of industry.
Until we prohibit money flowing from industry to politicians we will get politicians doing industry's business.
FFor those wanting to replace all their fillings with composite. Thank you as you will buy me a new car. they are over twice the price and need to be replaced every six years. versus the amalgam which lasts 15 years to life. So thank you once again i love new toys.
Studies have found the longevity of composites varied not by the brand but by the dentist. This dentist is telling you that he/she has no success in placing long lived composites.
Go watch safer removal for a better understanding of how a concerned dentist protects their staff and their patient.
BTW Json, OSHA law requires that you provide protective equipment to everyone when exposure is likely.
No thanks to me . . . I avoid quacks. No wonder dentists have such a high suicide rate. If I knew that I had been poisoning people for decades I'd wanna blow my brains out, too.
I assume you are all on the same boat that believed in death panels. THere is no conclusive scientific evidence whatsoever of any adverse effects from amalgam. For those who are in the dental field posting these comments i hope you are reported by your colleagues and loose your licenses. As propagating these "conspiracy" theories is against ADA guidelines. Again, there is NO conclusive evidence at all and any one who says otherwise is lying and ignorant.
In my opinion these false statements are irresponsible and unethical. To claim that substantial exposure to mercury is without harm is simply ludicrous.
Studies now 25 years old link amalgam use to loss of bone and thus loss of teeth and in periodontal disease.
Mercury in blood drops 90% if amalgams are removed.
1 in 6 babies in the US are born with excessive blood mercury at risk of brain damage. I'd say the blame rests on ignorant dentists and their trade association the ADA.

Json's composites cost a lot and don't last long.
