This video should make you do two things; laugh and think.
Charcot foot (as it's properly spelled) is a serious condition of the lower extremity, whereby the foot is ultimately deformed and is threatened by the increased potential for infection and amputation. Although the causes of Charcot foot are not clearly understood, it is almost always associated with neuropathology.
Limb Salvage, as it pertains to amputation prevention, is a powerful field of medicine which utilizes a number of subspecialties to improve a patient's longevity as well as quality of life. Diabetic limb salvage and wound care are some of the fastest growing and evolving medical fields, which every diabetic could stand to gain from.

I'm a big fan of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes, so I figure Dr. Glass should take a swing at it. On behalf of everyone involved, we hope you enjoy.

Transcript:
In a world swimming with peril,
The threat of neuropathy treads closer than ever.
Where diabetes claims the limbs of over 200 thousand people every year,
...There exists something far more frightening...
This summer! Prepare to have your vision disturbed
Your kidneys fail, and your sensations left bobbing out at sea...
Rocker-bottom studios brings you one whale of an arch-buster that will throw your A1C.... overbaord...
Consult your local Podiatric limb salvage experts, or else...
(Musgrave was on to something big...)
Sharko foot 2.... This time it's chronic!!
Thank You! :-)
While I see what Dr. Glass wanted to accomplish I would have liked to seen some education sprinkled in. The other videos are so great. The explanation of the different planes of foot motion is fantastic.
Think school house rock meets the DPM :)

@jeffaseidman That's not a bad idea. I suppose I let the fun side do all the decision making for this carpet ride. I hope to continue doing creative and useful in a more "balanced" manner in future vids.

Hello rainkatt,
Our intention is to make users aware of, not just diabetes, but to the complications thereof. Public knowledge of diabetes has been proven to be low, considering the percentage of the overall population it affects.
DrGlass is always trying new ideas and exploring new possibilities to communicate information effectively. Because most people with Charcot foot/feet didn't even know what it was until they had it, we see that as a failed opportunity for public awareness.
