Indian bizarre ritual

Tribals living in a remote village pierce their bodies with iron hooks 90 feet above the ground and hang in air suspended. The villagers perform the ritual to thank Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, for fulfilling their wishes.

First of all out of the 1.3 billion in India, probably 100 people have done this. This feat shows their religious devotion but also there strength. And this is 100% voluntary. There are western nations who have forcefully done this to people in their colonies.
