I could not resist going to this one especially after hearing multiple calls for a fire in a vacant house. Crews had a battle to begin, the house was set back on the lot, half the crews were trained en route to the fire, it was windy and cold. Battalion 7 being first on scene advised a fully involved 25x40 1.5 story frame vacant house. Engine 7's crew pulled a line and attempted an aggressive attack which was hard considering the roof had already collapsed. All searches were negative and nobody was hurt at the scene.

my dad a photographer for two newspapers at different times, he did EXACTLY what you did, go to fires and accident. i have heard many a gory story from him.
Nice video! Very nice footage. My shift worked a structure yesterday morning that looked vey similar. We arrived to a fully involved single story, couldnt do much except surround and drown. Only problem was an exposure that caught up on one side before we got there. Vinyl siding just melted off though, fortunately for the homeowners.
It was about 15 feet, looks a lot closer than I really was. I am all about safety, trust me. My camera doesn't have zoom while I am recording so I just zoom before I start recording, thats why it looks like I am in the building, lol. Out of all the fires to date I have never been injured and don't plan on it.
Sorry, but 15 feet is way too close for anyone except Firefighters. Anybody not there to put out the fire should be across the street. You can still get great footage and not be on the actual fireground like you are. It is the I.C's responsibility to ensure everyone's safety and be accountable for everyone's actions on the scene. There is no way the I.C. can be accountable for your actions and safety when you are this close.
