@UFOSPACE1999 So it has never caught on and people have never liked it? I've never even seen it, so I don't know if I would even like it. But it seems like more people like it than you say, since so many people have left comments here saying that they do. But you could still be right.

@stitchesful Ur right on some films..but NOT in this case..it stinks like the two fish in it. AND still today on Rotten Tomatoes...43% of audiences like it... The Day of the Dolphin was NOT liked in 1973 and still today holds that honor!!! lol. Delerue's music is beautiful and IT could not even save this Chicken of the Sea.....

@UFOSPACE1999 Really? I had had no idea. But even if the movie was originally a bomb, didn't people come to like it over time? I know that "It's a Wonderful Life" was also a box office failure, but then became more and more famous as the years went by. I guess it wasn't successful at first because it came out just after WWII and people weren't interested in a sentimental type of story. Is it the same kind of thing with this movie?

@stitchesful IT was released big screen in 1973...and IT was a big ass bomb. NO ONE liked it...IT cost more money to make..than it made at the box office...EVERYONE panned this chicken of the sea. LOL...Georges Delerue score was nominated for an Oscar..as was the sound. After the shoot...The Cast and Crew had Grilled Dolphins!!! LOL

After the film..they released the dolphins...ONLY to be eaten by some Japanese Tourist!!!
