Diplomacy Strategy. How to play the opening.

Diplomacy is an all time classic strategy game played as a board game and more recently on the Internet.

Tactics for both online and offline versions of Diplomacy are the same:-
You must expand and try not to make enemies.

In this tutorial I cover standard opening moves and variations to help your nation get off to a winning start.
I will cover diplomacy opening moves for each of the seven nations.

I don't know if this has already been said, but I'm afraid you made an error, Steve. At :35, you explain that Germany can cut (Army Edi - Nwy; Fleet Nth C Army Edi - Nwy) with (Fleet Den - Nth), which makes the English move (Army Edi - Nwy; Fleet Nwg C Army Edi - Nwy; Fleet Nth S Army Edi - Nwy) preferable to the other variation (Army Edi - Nwy; Fleet Nth C Army Edi - Nwy; Fleet Nwg S Army Edi - Nwy).

In actuality, support orders can be cut by a single unit, not convoys, so the latter is best.

@Telenoth I have a comment in the video to explain why this could happen (French Fleet in English channel could support German Fleet to North sea), but yes I regret mentioning this now, you are perfectly safe to convoy via North Sea otherwise.
