My favorite skydiving video ever. Fucking crazy, great video and perfect song. Hope you got this mixed in time to play while everyone was getting drunk off all that beer you bought...

@lilstahlly22 Yeah you can see his RSL, especially in the 1st 15 seconds of the vid. The little red thing on his left shoulder next to the largest 3Ring. That is where the RSL connects to the risers. Pulling the little red thing disconnects the RSL, you can do that before a high wind landing for example. Only when the risers are pulled away from the 3Ring by the main does the RSL get pulled and yank the reserve pin. Blue Skies!

@lilstahlly22 wrong. get your facts right. an rsl is connected to the left riser and only acts as soon as your left riser flys off.

I Loled at 0:24 haha... That face just says "oooooo that's not good"

Wonder how much beer was owed

@lilstahlly22 The RSL is connected to the left riser, just above the 3 ring release.

@gibiault So essentially an RSL is situationally a SOS? Right, because if your main is out but you have to cut away, then your RSL will deploy the reserve. But in this case since the main never deployed then the RSL is pointless? I just don't get where the RSL would connect to the Main. I guess i just figured that the RSL was connected to the cutaway handle. Is that not correct?
-
@lilstahlly22 Your understanding of what an RSL is is less then complete. An RSL uses the main as a static line to deploy the reserve. As the main flys away , it ( the rsl )pulls the reserve pin.It does not deploy the reserve by itself. In this case the main is still in the container so the RSL does not deploy anything.
-
@gibiault RSL is a Reserve Static Line. It means that the reserve pops out when the cutaway handle is pulled. In this case the cutaway handle was pulled (with an rsl the reserve would have exploded very early on. IDK what you don't get..... An RSL is a form of a Single Operation System the way I see it. Any professionals have an opinion?
