  • is that a stock 265

  • Not really stock, when I build the engine I used a larger cam, little bit of head work, etc.

  • Bitch all you like but this engine in a 3000lb car can run a high 11 to mid 12 second pass down the quarter. Not bad for a 6 banger N/A.

  • @505197 - Mate, Chrysler Australia called it a hemi, not us.

  • I know people might say that this isn't a hemi, but in fact, it is. Do your research and you'll find that the just because the spark plug placement isn't in the middle of the head, it does not mean it isn't a hemi. Yes, they used it as a marketing tool, but the motor is still a hemi.

  • @505197 Well I bothered to check the engine out and it's just as I suspected, it's not a true hemi. They only called it a Hemi for marketing value. Like I said, it don't look like a hemi and it isn't a hemi. The chamber compromises about 35% of a Hemisphere, that ain't no damn hemi son. Still looks like an intresting engine though.

  • @505197 hahaha mate it's all good , no need to get grumpy about being corrected , there ain't nothing new about these six's , the six's weren't very widely used in performance application in the states , hence why you probably haven't seen them around over there , they were released in the old aussie charger's , wagon's , sedan's , utes , and could be optioned with triple carb's from factory , great engine , i've had a few myself , they just don't like anything above 6~7000 rpm

  • @fj40chriso Go fuck yourself, you can call anything you please a Hemi, like Chysler's new "hemi" aint a fuckin hemi. Notice any real hemi engine designs being produced lately? Hell now cause they suck for a number of reason, but you know all about suckin don't ya. I doubt that fuckin 6 banger is a hemi no matter what the fuck they call it.

  • @505197 are you taking the piss? a second ago you didn't know that a hemi six wasn't a cross flow , now suddenly you know an apparent flaw with the head? everyone in here is now stupider for having read your comment's

  • @fj40chriso So the engine has a hemi chamber, which is a pity since a hemi chamber was the hemi engine's achellies heal. It was tolerated due to the ability to flow air, it had a propensity to detonate due to no quench and swirl. Frankly I don't care what it's chamber looks like, toss a brace of Webers on an engine and I'll love it inspite of it's ugly half bowl chamber. I'd like to see one of those heads, I still have a hard time believing it has a half grapefruit for a chamber.

  • @505197 Ummm probably because the 215,245 & 265 6 cylinder hemi's aren't cross flow , combustion chamber is what makes a hemi , that is all

  • That sure dosent' look like a "hemi" to me, in fact it's not even a cross flow head!
