A complete Left 4 Dead Strategy guide in the versus mode. This guide covers playing both sides : the survivors and the infected.

The survivor side covers all weapons, pacing, playing against tanks and witches.

The infected side covers general strategy as well as playing the special infected : the smoker, the boomer, the hunter, and the all powerful tank.

  • 3 in 1. Boomer dies in the beginning, no one spawns and you get 3 hunters 1 smoker. Your ratios are way off. For the tank, it is advisable to throw rocks on a very high area. If you look at Death Toll the final chapter, what people do is climb the house and throw rocks at the survivors, if they try to light you on fire than you just jump in the water and get your special infected to distract them. Boomer, do rocket boom and that's when you jump in between the survivors and puke on all of them

  • also, hunters deal 6 damage per scratch, boomers and smokers deal 2, iirc

  • i don't believe you can get 4 hunters on a versus mode, 3 i've seen, 4 means game over if the infected aren't horrible.

  • kiting never works

    crowning the witch always works :D

  • i play l4d2 (so huters do 10 damage for each swipe) so when the eemy is low health i just rush in swipe all four and see how much point they got

  • Wall pouncing as the hunter is best to control when you actually pounce, do not spam pounce as he has suggested, it offers a lot more control and acuracy when done correctly. With the scratch damage patch the hunter does 6 damage and the smoker and the boomer do 4. Throwing rocks as the tank is heavily advisable because if they do not have molotovs, point blank rocks can hold a survivor down and since there is no delay between throw and punch.

  • why do you tell us to focus our fire on the tank twice? at about 0:20 ??? was that an accident or did you forget or something
