thanks for uploading these classic vintage films , people should remember these were state of the art when filmed , we are all spoiled by the computor generated effects of today , in 1955 computors had rope core memory or valves and a large memory then was less than 30k of ram , they are remembered by fans who accept the flaws , more like these please

As far as this film being bad, you have to take into account that the copyright on this is 1956. Awesome, awesome classic science-fiction! I love Eric Fleming! His character is completely opposite of his genteel, Confederate trail boss Gil Favor in Rawhide, but equally well-portrayed!

A 5 year old kid could have done better!
This film is a waste of money and talent! - Did I say "talent"?
Bad writing and bad directing makes this a total waste!

@vawlkee51 Wow, such a scathing denouncement of anothers talent, Like you have done better? I think that it is very likely any mission like this one would have been bound to fail in real life.

The actor playing SGT Andre Fedor looks like the same one who played Artimus Gordon on "The Wild Wild West".

Not a bad movie. Was Gen. Merrick right? Do we have the right to go to other planets? A bit slow in the beginning but got exciting towards the middle and the conclusion was wonderful. Liked Sgt. Mahoney's comment to the crew "It's a glorious way the General died".
Thanks for sharing a good sci-fi movie. I enjoyed it.

I disagree a bit that Destination Moon is a better movie, although it has the "regular joe" character in it as well...which is a part that an earlier audience might have identified with. The shooting of DM was done exceedingly well for 1950, with a hi-key and deep shadow lighting style for the EVA and Moonwalking scenes...and, of course, Technicolor. The colored spacesuits were mimiced on the 2001 Discovery suits. Possibly a tribute by Kubrick?
