from the William Shakespeare play Julius Caesar, Animated by Myself.

voice by Marlon Brando, Act 3 scene 1:

O, pardon me, thou bleeding piece of earth,
That I am meek and gentle with these butchers!
Thou art the ruins of the noblest man
That ever lived in the tide of times.
Woe to the hand that shed this costly blood!
Over thy wounds now do I prophesy,
--- Which, like dumb mouths, do ope their ruby lips,
To beg the voice and utterance of my tongue ---
A curse shall light upon the limbs of men;
Domestic fury and fierce civil strife
Shall cumber all the parts of Italy;
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

Enjoy.

  • Really great animation .. I like how you focused on good animation leaving the rest for fast rendering .. this has a lot of work put in too it.

  • @resistanceunion Thanks very much, and glad that you figured it out.

  • Have you ever considered doing one for the speech that Mark Antony gives at Ceasar's funeral/

  • @roguegirl29 Funny that you brought it up, because I was wondering about it myself. I kind of did and kind of didn't, because I thought about doing it, but turned it down moments later, probably due to the fact that for me, the speech doesn't have the power and force when compared to the monologue, which is what appealed and motivated me strongly to finish this piece. I suppose is just a personal thing.

  • @Gerx888 I understand that, considering that Antony wasn't allowed to say anything bad about the conspirators and that he had to be very subtle in his words.

  • @roguegirl29 exactly ;)

  • Nice animation. Ceasars hair was black, and his eyes dark though.

  • Great job!!!!!

  • When he says 'Cry Havoc', I always get a shiver down my spine.

    Marlon Brando is amazing.

  • very good , kind of Brando-y

  • i just saw this last week and am impressed by the expressive gestures and action --figure proportions are a bit off --but image emphasizes the power of the emotion well done

  • @ultimatejuggernaut30 Can change the hearts and minds of the mob, lol. By the way Brando is still saying "costy" here instead of "costly" :) Great actor though.

  • its amazing how a simple speach can change the hearts and minds of millions

  • Let slip the dogs of war! With carrion men...groaning for burial... I never get tired of hearing this piece. Awesomely read by Brando. Props to Gerry's animation also.
