This obviously isn't the gov't of Canada anymore. It's "The Harper Government". Such a shame. We live in an apartheid state. The only difference between us and Israel, is that we don't randomly kill our native population with bombs. We let the weather do it for us, and cripple them economically so they can't respond to emergencies like this. 1300 dollars a day for a coin counter, that they don't want, nor need, and they have to pay for it. What a joke. :(

CRAP! "The federal government is forcing the troubled Attawapiskat First Nation to pay a private-sector consultant about $1,300 a day to run its finances -- even though the government's own assessments say the third-party management system is not cost-effective" HUH?!! i see what they're trying to do now. Im not gonna say what, u can figure it out urself ppl.

im sure first nations people would want to be treated fairly, treated like any other canadian....in any other city...doesnt make sense to ignore a call from Cheif Spense and others in attawapiskat for the army, if they accept it than why not?! they obviously dont have any problem with the military. theres only been 1 time when there was a problem, and that was a totally different situation and group of people. Strange....

Our military has played an incredible role at times of other humanitarian crises in Canada...is attawapiskat not a part of canada? the people who live there asked for help, Spence made that req didnt she? honor it. its not like they'd go in to be disrespectful. just to help fix homes or fix the healing centre, whatever is needed. like in other canadian cities. not fair! the government will evacuate ppl now, but only if they work with the third party manager guy? thats weird....
