hi guys i just woke up after editing and uploading almost all the videos in one sitdown..

i had to tell my mum what questions to ask me but she got kinda nervous and still messed up haha.

my grandfather was a hdb painter and fell off a gondola (is that what its called?) years ago, landing on his head. he had been senile ever since i knew him, he never recognised any of us, not even his wife....

he kept deteriorating all the way to the mind of a 6 yr old. the most time i spent with him was guarding his coffin through the night (djulian was with me). i was one of his grandsons to carry him into the hearse.

my grandma hasn't been the same since my grandpa passed away a year ago, and is now in a constant state of delirium. she can't even tell whether its night or day at times. but at least she was happy to dress up for the video.

my grandma who stays with us, is someone i cannot say i've known. after all these years, she's been more of a ghost around the house - a caring one - as she goes about her daily routine, taking naps, looking out the window, reading newspapers, watching tv, making random comments and keeping to herself.

her silent and introverted nature has always left me with a deep and misunderstood impression about older people in general - do they all grow to become cold, cynical and bitter about the difficulties that have plagued them their whole lives? is that the inevitable end that i will face too, one day?

it's at moments like these where i feel deeply moved and deeply human again. there's not enough time on earth to not reach out to everyone around us; there's not enough time for excuses that we make to avoid reaching out to people who we know matter, but aren't treated that way....

@monkeymogul i think she did.. there were a few moments I caught her grooving to the song as I played. Her condition has gotten worse since I made this video, to the point she doesn't recognize anyone at all. But I'm glad I have this video to remember her when she still had that spark in her eyes.
