This monument to Terry's Texas Rangers can teach us a lot about studying for the ACT test Texas. The Rangers were units of about 100 men each who were very mobile and were experts in non-traditional, guerilla tactics. That's what YOU want to do when you prepare for the ACT test.
You see, most students approach studying for the ACT test like it is a major battle. They hunker down for hours of studying in the traditional way of "showing disciplined study habits."
That couldn't be more wrong. If you want to get a high ACT test score, you need to be think like Terry's Texas Rangers: small and mobile
First, you need to study in small, short bursts. Most people get much less effective after 20 minutes of studying, so keep your study sessions brief. If you have 60 minutes to study, then spend the first minute studying, take a 20 minute break and move around (you know, mobile like Terry's Rangers) and then you will be refreshed for your second 20 minute study time. You'll learn AND retain much more than sitting for 60 minutes all at once; studies prove it.
Second, be even MORE mobile than just moving around between study sessions. Study in diffferent locations. Research has proven that if you study the same material in different locations (like the library, a coffee shop, your friend's house) you will retain MORE in less time! That's just the way your brain works.
If you want to maximize your study time and learn the handful of test taking skills that will give you a high ACT test score, visit College Exam Tutor.com and check out the four hour online video course. Chopped up into 20 minute videos, it's easy to digest and you follow along with your downloadable study guides.
Just remember, it's always better to work smart than to just work hard.
