Cyclist-oops!!!

On exiting the car park behind Dunnes stores shopping centre on North Main street in Cork city, I captured this clip of a cyclist getting caught out in traffic big time.

the lights were not working properly (as seen by them flashing red in the background) but this guy took a chance and cycled into the middle of the junction where he got caught in a most precarious position between another car and a Garda squad car.

They did look at one stage like they were going to get out as he was obstructing traffic but he got off the bike in a shot and legged it lol.

Fortunately for him, he got away as they did not follow him but it was very funny to watch all the same :).

@lesfingres1 The camera is always rolling and I just happened to catch it as it happened. I didnt know it was going to happen but I thought it was funny at the time :).

Was the cyclist not in the right? If he was going straight he had right of way.

TBH, I dont know who had the right of way. Cant remember now lol but it was funny how he nearly shat himself when he realised he had wandered into the path of an oncoming garda car lol.

Watch carefully, people. The police car had nothing to do with the cyclist's actions. Instead, the cyclists was obviously turning around in the middle of the intersection to catch up with the turquoise car he looked at and waved to just before at 0:05 in the video. The Irish Garda was likely just heading in that direction (which is why he turned into the far lane) rather than following the cyclist. The cyclist's actions were goofy, but not all that serious.

Would it not have been faster to cycle away than to run away? lol! Besides, cyclist had right of way if they were going straight ahead. Imagine if you found yourself in that situation in a car and just got out and legged it!
