Spyro's First Feeding

Yup, yet another snake feeding video on YouTube. Dime a dozen, but I had to share my first feeding of Spyro. He's a 2-3 month old Okeetee Corn Snake.

It gets a little messy, as I used feeding tongs to handle the mouse, and they broke the skin. I bought the tongs because I thought it might be necessary to entice Spyro to eat. No worries there!

Sorry about the blurriness; I was trying to get a closer look but I can't use the zoom in/out feature while recording. Not on my Kodak camera, anyway. I got a Polaroid video camera for Christmas, which I think allows zooming during recording, but I don't remember for sure.

Music is "Atlantis" from the Sega Genesis video game "Ecco The Dolphin: The Tides Of Time."

he looks a little bit like my cornsnake, ive never fed my pretty new baby snake. How did you do the first time?

A bit late, so hopefully you've already fed your hatchling. =) I think I just set the dead mouse in the container with him, or I might have used feeding tongs to move it around a bit. His feeding response was pretty tame when he was younger, but it's getting better. Now he strikes out and quickly coils around the mouse.

um...it is his first feeding???...they are supposed to have their first meal the day that they shed.....that one looks like he sheded a couple of adys ago, but I could be wrong.....

He was 2-3 months old in this video, so he's been fed before by the breeder. This is his first feeding that I've witnessed. I just looked at the summary I wrote for the video; I should have been more clear. =)
