yes DEFINATELEY get a 480p cable if your tv has hd otherwise your wii is a waste. btw they sell it cheap(like $6) on amazon

It works, but only on the small screen. (Aren´t anyone going to understand the term "TEST"!?)
On fullscreen it get´s a bit worse... I guess this is what you wanted anyone to say. So there´s the answer, it works with the small screen.

Thanks for the input. It helps. The main thing was seeing how video captured in progressive scan came out. I don't think this was the best footage to establish the quality and performance. I mean, the game is pretty grainy and doesn't even fill the screen without being zoomed in. Anyway, the sound came out great. Overall, I think it works well.
