  • 2:16 "The Republican National Committee's health insurance plan...includes coverage for elected (sic) abortion." Here's the difference. The RNC plan does not force "taxpayers" to pay for other people's abortion with their tax money. The Obamacare bills force taxpayers, regardless of moral convictions, to fund other people's abortions with federal (public) dollars. That's the difference. (By the way, it's "elective" abortion. Mr. Olbermann mistakenly calls it "elected" abortion.)

  • The Majority of americans even pro-choicers oppose funding for abortions. Which is why the Democrats did not want people to think that HC reform was funding abortion. The stupak amendment merely holds them accountable to that promise.

  • Keep your fucking legs crossed if you don't want to get pregnant, if you do don't use MY money to pay for it!!!

  • Yeah, cause a Democrat can't be pro-abortion. Waaaaaa!

  • Forget morality in this issue. It's an issue of human rights. Is the victim women? No! It is those humans who have been living in the womb.

Remember, this amendment only prevents abortions in the case of consentual sex that results in a non-life-threatening pregnancy.

Pregnancy, in these cases, was a consequence that a woman is aware of when she consents to sex. If anything, she should be the one to pay for the termination.

  • its legal to pray, why does Olberman oppose prayer in public school? The "separation of.." yea, ok, But its LEGAL to pray, right?

just because its legal to have an abortion doesnt make it justifiable to pay for them with tax dollars. Its called the Hyde Amendment, dipshit.

Or as I call it "the separation of my tax dollars & abortion."

that the bill doesnt cover abortions, isnt limiting anyones access. the SupCt didnt find a RIGHT to abortion, let alone a RIGHT to tax subsidies for abortion.

  • the electorate includes an overwhelming majority which agrees that taxpayers shouldnt be compelled to pay for abortions since an exceedingly large segment of the country feels that abortion poses a serious moral dilemma.

I dont understand the point youre trying to make that politics & religion are mutually exclusive topics. Even if I agreed, it would make zero sense to suggest that morality shouldnt influence politics.

ps Congressmen represent their own districts, not the entire electorate.

  • The problem is, in the south, many of the voters elect based on religious belief. That makes it difficult to overcome.... as a believer in separation of church and state, I hate america's use of God and The Bible in our laws
