I raced a Mach on slicks w/spray with my S4. You can see the race here "O_gO0DXgBUA". Props to the Mustang guys cause you never know what they have up the sleeve :).
@TheNextAdventure I'll call it a truce, but 2v mustangs are rated at 260hp and 302lbs of tq. fox bodies... 225hp and 300lbs of tq. Thats a 35hp difference/ 2tq difference. i'll leave it at that.
@Texarmageddon but hey man, I say we just call it truce. I think that you make some pretty good points, but I believe I do as well. I think depending on what a consumer is really looking for, will ultimately decide what engine is really best for them. They both have pros and cons, as is everything in life.
@Texarmageddon It's 45 more horses, and like 20 lbs of tq. Not sure if you meant to put 20 or 2, not trying to be a dick about that. And right, so you can either go to a dyno to get the engine tuned, for the 5.0, or buy a once and done mail order tune from BAMA, and get your full bolt ons tuned and everything. Still gonna be cheaper then 5.0. And you're right, 2v's aren't great at all when it comes to a good v8, flow is bad, they don't respond insanely well to upgrades.
@TheNextAdventure 35hp/ 2lbs of tq... do you see those numbers? Take into a 93 octane tune... tq difference gone... and hp difference lowers. 2vs aren't that great. Go to a forum or a machinist... Do you understand how much parts cost for the 2v? Have you sat down once and looked? parts are 50-600 dollars more in every category. that adds up.
@Texarmageddon yes I own an 02 gt, 2v. And dude you have it backwards. People who have a little to spend in mods are better off in a 4.6 because those little mods(bolt ons) will result in still having more power then a 5.0. Anyone who wants 600+ horses will be dragging the car, and if not, it's no purpose cuz with that much power you gotta run slicks constantly to even grab.
@TheNextAdventure What part of all parts of a OHV engine are cheaper than the 4.6. My lord you act as if 35hp is hard to pass. With a curb weight advantage and that horribly small hp disadvantage you're crazy. My question to you is do, you even own a 2v 3v or 4v? those 3 engine make good power if you have MONEY.... the 5.0 makes power even when you don't.
careful s2000 don't blow out your rear end!

@TheNextAdventure a 4v is a huge difference. in a 2v full bolt ons might not even get you 300whp. but on a 4v, you'll get 350 rwhp no problem.
