Firefox AK
Last autumn, Andrea Kellerman moved from Stockholm to Berlin. For a few months, Andrea spent her days in the kitchen in two different sublets, writing songs and recording them. If I Were A Melody was recorded and produced together with her friend Viktor Ginner (who also produced the first Firefox AK album Madame, Madame!). During three months in Berlin, Andrea never saw one single bird. Those kind of observations inspired her and later turned into songs (in this case, Flutter Of A Wing). It was a year and a half ago since Madame, Madame! was released. A lot has happened since then: For one thing, the German dance scene inspired Andrea, who started listening even more to electronic music. Her beats are tougher and more muffled, and this time around, the melodies are harder to grip. American label Minty Fresh (the same people who first introduced the Cardigans to the US, fact fans) have also signed Firefox AK. Apart from all of her own shows, Firefox AK opened for her own favorites Junior Boys during their European tour. Andrea asked Junior Boys member Matt Didemus if he wanted to mix the new album. Matt accepted and has also produced the songs Shero, and Every time I ride my bike. Because of this, Andrea once again found herself in Berlin in the autumn of 2007, this time mixing the album with Matt. Andrea says she would rather not explain exactly what the lyrics are about, and claims she'd rather just have people interpret them the way they like.

  • I saw Firefox AK tonight as support act to the Hurts gig.

    Amazing.

  • Lyrics Part II:

My sister and I, we used to sing in the church on Sundays

to keep the ghost away and make the secrets fade

My sister and I, we used to hung quietly in bed facing each other rubbing our noses until we fell asleep.

My sister and I, we don't sing no more

But in my head I've kept an image of the two of us dressed in the same clothes.

My sister and I, we don't sing no more

But in my head I've kept an image of the two of us dressed in the same clothes.
