Wow!!!
Amazing !!!

Easily the best pilot I have ever seen. But to be honest, compared with the high bar the pilot set, where so much happens in 40 minutes, the following episodes (and webisodes) paled in comparison. I don't know if it would have been the best show ever, but it would still be up there.

One of the best shows that ever got cancelled. Maybe the best. Second is freaks and geeks.
And this was on global. Fuckin global and it was still THAT good.
If they took this show... Put it on hbo... Could have been a contender for one of the best shows of all time.
I have stacks of movies and good tv on DVD... She wet anyone asks me what they can borrow...
This is the show I let them borrow.
also because I would never lend out my boxset of The Wire.

@RStanchfield The Black Donnellys were a real family. I've been past the site of their old homestead quite a few times. The brothers on the show are loosely based on the real Donnellys, but the rest is all Americana.

Jesus. Fucking. Christ. I just finished watching this series and it's a bitch that it got cancelled, best shit I've seen since The Wire/Sopranos.

There are few Irish sections bordering on Italian neighborhoods but in the fifties and sixties, and maybe even the seventies, this could have happened between the Irish of Woodside/Sunnyside against the Italians of Corona. The bar scenes, the street scenes, all of it, been there seen it done it.

I still wonder how the show would have ended - what the storyline would have been. Such a great show!

I loved this version so much more. Nothing against Snow Patrol. I actually like them better than Arcade Fire, but I thought this song fit so much better with the ending. They even timed the "every time you close your eyes" line at 3:38 so well. It's too bad they lost so much of the music between the pilot and the pickup. They lost the Nuttin' But Stringz song too, didn't they?

both songs work, and forever they BOTH will make me think of this sequence. Damn, NBC for canceling something that could have been on par with The Wire.

I miss this show. NBC so made a terrible mistake pulling the plug on a show with much potential.
I thought this show so good...shame it was canceled so soon.

It's a real shame this show didn't catch on. It had a lot of potential.
