This is absolutely fabulous, thanks for posting!
The Water Chute looks scary, I would hate to be the guy standing at the back of the boat and the Joy wheel.... im speechless, it looks really dangerous compared to nowadays but at least they look like theyre having a ball ha...
Thanks again for posting, nice to see how our local attractions were back in the day, everyone looks like they are having so much fun :-)

Fabulous video. I've always loved Blackpool Pleasure Beach. To just see the way it was from years gone by is great to watch!

real innocence...guys with ties...girls in dresses...all in hats...lovely era

People call Tilt-a-Whirls "spin and barfs"? The Virginia Reel looks like a serious spin and barf. The joy wheel looks like fun though!

joy wheel looks mega cool. the guy at 3:11 makes me laugh xD my mum and I used to go on the whip, was one of my fave rides (before it closed down). why can't they bring back some of the old gems?

Fantastic bit of film, thank you. I remember going on the Reel in the late 70's I was about 9 and got a bit hurt, it was vicious! no safety belts or anything!

I used to love the joywheel at the old and best Pleasureland in Southport. Being in the rollercoaster club we used to have exclusive time on it, every rule was broken, massive pile on lol.

lol happy memorys, alot of the rides in the 20's survived along time into the 80's and 90's, i think noah's ark is still there but it's 6 years since i last went. Thankyou for sharing this.

Noah's Ark, Flying Machines, River Caves and Big Dipper are still operating today and have all been nicely spruced up. Until recently, the Whip ride was also still present - it had occupied several locations during its life in the park, the last being under the south end of the Irn Bru Revolution shuttle-looping coaster, in a classy building many mistakenly think to be as old as the ride itself, actually designed by family architect Fiona Thompson when it moved to its final spot 15-20 years ago.
