An impressive demo with a bit of video tacked on to keep you amused or confused while you're listening.

  • Just an amateur effort, Mhaza, but glad you enjoyed watching it. Good to know there's a Skids following in Brazil. Cheers.

  • What a fantastic version. Its an absolute disgrace that some record company hasn't put all the demos and the Peel sessions out by now.

    Many thanks for posting.

  • A pleasure... and I totally agree.

  • Mother is a gambler

  • Thank goodness, a version without those singing children !

  • This song is very very good at improving confidence.

  • Awesome - Bakerlite

  • love the intro on this

  • I actually prefer this to the released version. The demos have a raw punk quality which was sometimes lost in the wash.

  • Some of this stuff has got to be released commercially I think. The CD re-releases have had some extra material on them, e.g. "Test Tube Babies", B-Sides etc I think Jobson has neglected them. He said he more or less had until Adamson's death and the U2/GD cover, reminded him of those days

  • This was the lead single from the third album, The Absolute Game (1980). Stunning song and using the kids chorus on the finished version was a stroke of genius. Adamson left after this album and the eventual follow-up, Joy, was a really patchy affair. It was also their final album.
