This memorial ceremony markes the 18th year that residents and visitors of Palm Beach County, Florida were invited to participate in the Loxahatchee Battlefield Ceremony. It commemorates the Second Seminole War that occurred in January 15, 1838, led by Lieut. Levine Powell. He led the mixed force with black and white Marine and Naval personnel against the Black and Native forces on the Laxahatchee Battlefield.

  • Bob Carr did not attend the ceremony. Steve Carr is with the Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationists and is an amateur archaeologist. You may be correct about Bob Carr doing the survey of the grounds. Chris Davenport, Palm Beach County Archaeologist may have been involved as well.

  • Shouldn't that be Bob Carr? From the South Florida Archaeological & Historical Conservancy, who did the archaeology survey of the grounds originally?
