  • @BBQFanNo1 CSKA and Soviets knew how to"beat the pants off"of the Canadians and N/A every year they played with them.1974,76,79(6-0 against nhl,Clarke was a captain),81(8-1 against Canada),82-83(5-1 against Flyers with Mr Clarke as a captain too)etc... Wake up,look statistics.NHL won 2 game from 8,in 1976,but crying here like big hockey monsters,in fact they are LOOSERS(why nobody don't mentioned what happened with NY Rangers,Boston Bruins,Pittsburg Penguins,Chicago BH,NY Islanders)

  • Yes,you're partly right.Our hockey built around 2-3 teams.Other like SKA,Sokol,Torpedo were lower level,but I suppose,that their's level were close to "2 NHL division" like Rangers, Penguins, Blackhawks,not much worse,may be similar

  • @MrVasilenkoK But like I said, you're talking about games of the top Soviet teams against mediocre NHL teams of the time like the Rangers, Penguins, Blackhawks, etc. It was always the best 2 or 3 Soviet clubs (who had all the national team players) against the NHL, where talent is spread more evenly. How do you think Sokol Kiev or Torpedo Yaroslavl or lower teams. And that was pretty much typical Philadelphia hockey of the time. Like I said, the best teams can win playing any style.

  • like really which commentators are like "whoohooo flies through the air" il bet if he had to pistle he would probably shoot twice before saying whoohoo,

  • American hillbillies high of marijuana

  • i like how russian players are so skilled dangling and good at puck possesion hockey. If you watch the russian 5 of detroit red wings they where one of the best lines i have seen in hockey and right now they still influence the red wings, Such a skilled team where they puck possesion hockey. The only reason Kharlamov was hit on the play here and the van impe incident was because soviet are not used to play aggressive hockey like we north americans. By the way the commentators sound like

  • @djob2676 Flyers,Nhl,for me no difference.I mean that before last 8 game in this series Soviets lost only 1 time in 7 games(funny Canadian excuses:it wasn't best against best,we didn't have Hull,Orr,Rambo,Rocky,Bond...God in our team)and that's why Philly took carte blanche to play without any rules(ref was brilliant example)to save some prestige in disappointing 2-5-1 tournament. In fact whole world saw that all this so-called profs were mediocre against Soviet amateurs(Gretzky in 80s exception)

  • @MrVasilenkoK Well it wasn't an NHL victory of course, it was a Philadelphia victory; these were clubs, not league all-star teams. And it was really an exhibition game anyway, so if you don't want to count it, you don't have to. Other NHL teams didn't have that luxury, though, when they played regular season games against Philly. Sometimes you have to play a style you don't like, but the best teams can play any style.

  • @djob2676 The only 1 REAL NHL victory in 1976 was in Buffalo(12-6).I can't imagine what happened with our team(Lyapkin and Yakushev saw Sabres before the game and said that it'll be a cake walk for Soviets,BUT HAPPENED WHAT HAPPENED and we lost),game in Philadelphia,I suppose, every normal man can not count like a NHL victory,3-rd game with Montreal(one of the best in hockey ever)was tie.Dynamo and Spartak was approx.one level with KS,that's why,who knows.Your Czech team was more serious for us

  • @MrVasilenkoK In 1976 they won 2/8 games against the top 2 Soviet clubs; they didn't beat the best 3 teams in the NHL. Yeah, CSKA and KS won against those lesser teams, but do you think Dynamo or Spartak would have beaten them?
