As part of a fear of flying course at www.fearofflying.com a United Airlines maintenance supervisor lectures on the jet engines used by airlines.

  • He said it wrong at first but said it correctly at the very end. It goes by hours of useage, not by calendar days. If the engine only had 300 hours left on it....we call it "Green Time"....it could accumulate those 300 hours maybe in 30 days.....or maybe in 3 months. So it goes by actual hours that the engine is running, not by the calendar.
