Phil Gatensby talks about youth, drugs, restorative justice and our responsibility as adults to do something about the underlying problems and not just react to the symptoms.

Born and raised in Carcross Yukon Territory, Phil Gatensby has dedicated his life to creating a better world. Trained as a counselor, Phil has worked with people within family, education, community, and justice systems. He has been a facilitator of the peacemaking process for twenty years and worked with people across North America. Phil has been involved in the training of facilitators in Minnesota, Illinois, Idaho, Canada and now Wisconsin. He has worked with people of all ages and all walks of life and it is his understanding of the human being that helps him to move freely when working with people.
The experience of the Circle Training is one that you will be able to use in all aspects of life. It is a holistic value based approach and is one process of dispute resolution. It is based on a traditional model of bringing individual(s) back into balance. It serves as a healing tool that can be used in all professional work areas, the justice system, and in your personal life. It recognizes that all systems need to work together as the community in an effort to create a better world for the future of our children and ourselves.

  • Phil is the best!

  • Loved this video. Everyone is willing to point their fingers, but no one is willing to take responsibility. Drugs and violence are a symptom of a bigger problem, a problem deep within our society.

  • I agree with most of what was said, but not much was said about restorative justice

  • it's all about giving the youth a purpose and direction that is both worthwhile difficult and dignifying. The number one problem in all of Canadian society is the utter lack of willingness to take responsibility for ones own actions and results. Social workers in particular, generally seem designed by their education and indoctrination to be agitators for this abdication of personal responsibility. Hurrah for your insight Phil, I hope you are able to run with it in your community!

  • Equality is reason, inequality is not.

The equality of authority is the common justice of the independent individual compatible with the independent value of Life as a unified whole relitivity to the meaning in life as a common quality appreciated.

The appreciation of quality begins with self, self is the liberator or the enemy of the mind. The mind is always conditioned by the internal/external relitivity of association to the credibility in transparency of a responsible awareness of right.

  • it's so obvious: I am here; I=here; what ever is here, it is me.

  • Peace and Love!
