Tyson explains the relation of the media and the misperception of science in the public. I'm not sure how to summarize this entire clip, its part of a discussion involving Dawkins and Harris from beyond belief session 3.

  • Tyson is amazing. Truly a hero for the 21st century

  • neil's right (as usual) The media reports on scientific breakthroughs immediately, before they've had a chance to be verified or dismissed- it makes science look "flip floppy" to the general public

  • TSN = Tyson Science Network?

  • I really hope that Dawkins works closely with Tyson.

Tyson presents himself as a very welcoming gateway to scientific thinking.

With Dawkins, I know what he thinks and how he sees the world, but most people simply cannot get it like that.

  • Why do all these videos cut off way before the 10 min limit

  • Very good point indeed.

Accept for the notion that science has value to the world. That is based completely on the subjective opinion of Neil and cannot be verified by the scientific method. The "value"

of any causal action can not be proven.

  • Very good point made there!
