Flying Circus performing at Model-Expo 2010 in Helsinki, Finland.
Flying Circus is a group of show pilots flying radio-controlled aeroplanes to music. They became famous after entering, and making it to the finals of Finnish Talent 2009, a talent competition organized by one of the biggest commercial TV channels in Finland. They have since performed in various events, big and small. The pyrotechnics display in Model-Expo was however perhaps the most impressive yet.

The big plane uses a separate receiver and transmitter for the lights and requires a second person (Jani in this case) to operate them. There is also a dedicated light controller designed by Pasi that they are using to drive the high power leds. The lights on the smaller planes are controlled from the single transmitter. I believe they are using programmable mixers to activate the lights based on control inputs, so the lights change when the plane rolls for example.
