Nehru Trophy Boat Race is the dazzling treat for eyes. The splendid water regatta, is a much awaited event in Kerala. Held on the second Saturday of August every year, this race can be termed as the greatest of backwater events in Kerala. Magnificient snake boats compete for the prized trophy constituted by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Accompanying them are the smaller as well as bigger country boats. The event also offers many fascinating sights such as ceremonial water processions, spectacular floats and decorated boats.

This year it was the 57th edition of the boat race and Champakkulam Chundan won the race.
