Whisker City rescues and rehabilitates abused neglected and abandoned felines and places them in loving homes.
My owner died and her sister promised to take care of me for the rest of my life. She brought me to Whisker City.
My owner got married and his new wife is allergic. He brought me to Whisker City.
My owner went to jail and a nice police officer brought me to Whisker City.
My owner had to go to a nursing home. I was brought to Whisker City.
I was lost and found a house where the people fed me for awhile. Then it got cold and they brought me to Whisker City.
I got hit by a car and the people that found me brought me to Whisker City. I had an operation and now I have 3 legs that work great.
Some kids were throwing me around and were kicking me. A nice man picked me up and took me to Whisker City and they nursed me back to health. I had surgery and now I'm good as new.
A teacher saw some crows dive-bombing at me on a play ground. I was so skinny I couldn't get up or fight back. She brought me to Whisker City and I'm now big and fat and waiting for my new home.
I came to Whisker City pregnant and in just a few days delivered 4 healthy kittens. We are all waiting for a new home.
My owner got addicted to crack cocaine. The police took him away. I was all alone in the apartment for days. Finally the landlord found me and brought me to Whisker City.
My owner lost his job and he moved his family away and left me behind. I nearly starved to death. Someone came from Whisker City and now I have a warm bed and furry friends.
I heard my owner call Whisker City and tell them she couldn't pay for my vet bill. She sounded desperate. Now I live at Whisker City and they give me medications and take me to the vet. Nobody wants me because I'm a black cat and I need lifelong medication.
There are many cats at Whisker City with health issues so nobody wants them. We get to stay here forever, but it costs lots of money. Whisker City has a great adoption vehicle "Whiskers on Wheels" and all of our adoptable cats can get adopted when we get the money. The rest of us need a sponsor. It costs an average of $132 a month to live at Whisker City. $25 buys enough litter for one cat. $20 buys enough food for one cat. $29 pays for one neuter. $39 for one spay. $17 for shots. $22 for a microchip. $50 to combo test one cat. Whisker City has only one paid employee. We have rent, insurance, utilities, vet bills, bus insurance, gas and maintenance. The average cost per month to operate our shelter is $6200. This is our 20th year and our toughest year ever. Please help.
