mangini talentless? hahaha!! mangini knows all the rudiments, is the fastest (guinness world record), has achieves success by himself, not with a band (like portnoy did with DT), played with steve vai, can play everything! this is PURE TALENT AND DEDICATION!!!

No, your friend isn't an idiot, I think is wrong because either Mangini and Kollias are great drummers. But they are very different (though I don't think Kollias can play such a drum solo, maybe another one different, less musical) and so that's all.
