AmerenUE held a Media Day/opening ceremony for its rebuilt pumped storage plant near Middlebrook, MO on May 27, 2010. Traveler was invited. Here's what the new upper reservoir looks like. A few seconds into the video you will see a building on the rim, and what looks like a gap in the wall. It isn't. It is the overflow water control structure (spillway) which will take water down Taum Sauk Creek in the event of a multi-system warning system or operational failure. Mini-video by Jo Schaper, River Hills Traveler.
