Beethoven Moonlight Sonata mvt. 3 Presto agitato - Andrew Leshyk

Please, listen to my story... I'm amateur, none has taught me to play. Work, work and work... It is my hobby for almost 6 years. Many people sad that I got talent and I mustn't miss it. This year I tried myself at "Ukraine has got the Talent 3". Result: "Boy, you're talented, of course! But we say no to you, because your level is too high for our show. You missed the right door." After I thought, "Oh it's just a show, nothing special, maybe they are right?" I went to the nearest musical school, they have been astonished and directed me to go to Kyiv National Highest Musical College, named after Reinhold Gliere, for professionals to listen to me. Teacher there sad to me such interesting things: "Oh, you've never been to musical school, you're miserable! By the way, you don't deserve to play such difficult things! You got no musical culture! You got no chances, boy!" There were some phrases, which I don't even want to say. My God.. Are they kidding?! It's not polite to say such things at all, no matter of manners. She was so angry and didn't even try to keep her jealousy. And this person is one of the the best teachers of Ukraine? Hilarious! I'm in desperation, I don't know what to do now... I'm not haunting the fame, I'm doing this just because I'm fed up with this injustice... I know, that this recording is imperfect, but I want to know your opinion. Do I have any chances to become a pianist?.. Thank you.

@chantimerlin Thank you. It took me 2 days to read and learn the piece, it's structure is quite easy, speed is key.

It took me 3 months to play it at 2/3 of tempo. I'm still mastering it, as you can see, some accents are not good, mistakes...

@WimeSTone Wow thats quick. Even Wilhelm Kempff made a couple of mistakes!! keep going and upload more vids. Can you please do the 1st movement? i would be interested in your interpretation.

@chantimerlin I'd be interested in it too. To be honest, I didn't touch it. First, you need a good instrument, because electro-piano isn't as good. OK, I'll try. In my opinion 1 st mvt. is more difficult...

@alboholic2 Oh, thank you. ^^ This hint is very common. Don't try to play it at full speed for some time. When you feel you're ready to play faster without significant mistakes, slightly increase tempo. Usually, I start from 1/3 of the original tempo, if piece is got to be played fast.

P.S. It's take nr. 2 of total 3. I had train that day, and my bags weren't packed yet. Maybe I rerecord it one day.

Hi, I just wanna say congradulation, this is amazing! I've read your story written above, don't let anyone discourage you! This stuff is really good considering it's all self-taught, this kind of piece takes MONTHS to master. I know this from personal experience myself. You just need to control the speed and put a little more emotion to it, but other than that, I think is really good. You have great talent! Just keep at it and I'm sure you'll do perfect!
