Link to my Jazz guitar lesson site: http://www.thejazzchameleon.com Instead of scoring this transcription of Autumn Leaves from Joe Pass' album "Unforgettable", I started this series of videos which will attempt to show you step by step how to play this piece and also explain some of the theory behind what Joe Pass is doing. To the best of my knowledge I have correctly transcribed the piece, but I am not 100% sure, but that is not the point of these videos anyway; they are mostly intended to give a look at how a master like Pass would approach such an arrangement.

  • Have subscribed, have been to your site and every time I go I click on all the adverts. Other than telling you that you're a genius and these videos are totally brilliant, is there any other way I can persuade you to do another??!!

    TOTALLY 5 STARS!

  • thank you for your kind words, I will be uploading the next section in a few minutes! thanks to Julian for letting me know that there seems to be a problem with this video (it stops at 5:45), it seems that the actual file I uploaded was corrupt so I don't even have a "good" version of this video, i'll try to fix and re-upload it. thanks again to everyone for all your kind words

  • Thanks for you these wonderful lessons thanks for sharing

  • at the last part i can't see it, , i thik it stopped, , , was it intentional because you ended.?

  • This is fantasitc. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. Can't wait to see more if you've got the time.

  • I meant before the Gmaj7 sorry!!!

  • Dude. Really really appreciate you doing this massive effort to show us this. i have been working this song out for some time, and sure the chords you play in the beginning of this are not correct, listening to the record slowed down, it sounds more like a Amaj6 (similar to d major shape but with root A) going to a shape with the 6 flattened, then to the chord you finish on D9 (or whatever you call it)

also i would look at the run down just after to the Gmaj 7 is a D#/Eb before the G#-G not F#

  • Very Very good!!

    Keep up the good work!!
