One of the most basic (yet still a favorite of mine) choke attacks from north south. It is used alot from sidemount but I find it more useful in my game from this position. please rate, comment, repost and enjoy!

  • @kosenjudo yea thats what i mean, but if your in side control and you try to set the grip up, your are actually shutting down a lot of other possible side control attacks. Kinda like if your go for hip in sweeps from guard it limits you to kimuras and guilotines, but even more so w/ this choke, i cant think of any other transitions to go to when started in side control with this setup.. which is why i said "it dosent fit in my game"

  • @kosenjudo I like that approach as well, very effective...

  • @ph33ric you can start the grip from side control, then move to north-south..one of my favorites as well. We call it the underhook lapel choke.

  • nice one, my instructor shows this from side control and it dosent fit in my game anywhere, but from north south it works perfect. thanks jbell!
