One of the most basic (yet still a favorite of mine) choke attacks from north south. It is used alot from sidemount but I find it more useful in my game from this position. please rate, comment, repost and enjoy!
@kosenjudo yea thats what i mean, but if your in side control and you try to set the grip up, your are actually shutting down a lot of other possible side control attacks. Kinda like if your go for hip in sweeps from guard it limits you to kimuras and guilotines, but even more so w/ this choke, i cant think of any other transitions to go to when started in side control with this setup.. which is why i said "it dosent fit in my game"

@ph33ric you can start the grip from side control, then move to north-south..one of my favorites as well. We call it the underhook lapel choke.

nice one, my instructor shows this from side control and it dosent fit in my game anywhere, but from north south it works perfect. thanks jbell!
