I was stationed at Wurzburg, Germany for just under three years (1998-2001) during my time in the U.S. Army. It was a truly wonderful time, and the city, food, and people from that era comprise some of my fondest memories. Here is some footage I took of the city and Leighton Barracks after first arriving. While the video, shot for my folks back home, originally had "Stairway to Heaven" dubbed over it, I have redubbed it with songs that were very popular from my time stationed in Germany. Bayern Radio rocks!

I was born and raised in Wuerzburg and. came to the US by marriage through a GI. we had a lot of crazy times driving around, also up at Leighton, thanks for the memories :) too bad they closed doewn now, everything is empty now, I just went home for a visit this past June

my pops was stationed there right after the war. my mom was a war bride. i was born at the military hosp. the stories he used to tell us.

Thanks for posting! I was in Schweinfurt from 1998-2000. Spent a lot of time in Wurzburg though. :)

COOL!m Thanks for the ride!!! I was statione at Hindenburg Kasern, 123 signal Bn., from 1976 to 1979. You vid sure brings back memories!!!!

Watching this, it seems like yesterday I was there.
'86-90 252 Signal Company Wurzburg Telecommunications Center (below the microwave tower across the street from b-king, underneath the nco club)

damn i hope i get stationed in germnay the only thing that worries me is how to travel back to the states for leave time. : / it must be a pain in the ass

I was there in Dec 1985 103rd MI and in 1987 4th Avn Bde HQ at gieb then went to 89th ord bde in pirmasens. then once i was finished with uncle sam i stayed in germany till 1999. i love it. Wurzburg is my city.

I was in 3rd Finance on Leighton, during the mid 80's. Crazy times.
