Nomi - Week 2 - Youtube Music

wooo, ok, 2nd week guys and gals. Thanks to Mike aka ShadowMangaFusion for the suggestion to draw Alice! I'd love to get your suggestions on what you'd like to see me draw guys!

Thought i'd bring up a subject which has, i suppose made an impact on YT recently, i've been looking round and it seems people have been unable to upload videos or videos have been hunted down and ripped off of the website due to copyright infringements. I'm not entirely sure why. There has been issues with such companies such as Viacom in the past, but now it seems record companies and such forth are cracking their proverbial whips now. But where does that leave us? The humble video makers of the Internet? Musicians, amateur film makers, amv makers and bloggers are all being affected by this, unable to upload new content because of a song on the footage or finding old videos have had the sound disabled or the video removed completely.
We do not claim the music as our own, if anything most Youtubers credit the song title and artist, and we are not making money from the videos we make.
Yes, perhaps this is a method to crack down on product misuse and illegal downloads, and that's great, but what if you went into a store, high street or online and bought that CD? Does that make a difference? Or will we soon not be able to have music accompany our videos at all?
Will youtube be the same after such updates have come to light? And where does this lead to the future of Youtube?

What's everyone's opinions on this? I'd love to hear them n_n

Edit- BAHHHHH i just found out one of my videos on my other account was taken down due to said issue

There is a difference between personal use and publicly broadcasting. And a YT video is a public broadcast. I just avoid using music in my videos entirely.

well the thing is you may own it for Personal use with the purchase of the song.. but you do not have specific permission from the artist to use the song in your video... Which i frankly is bullcrap... but SAY HELLO TO THE WHINEY BASTARDS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS
