Exactly what I was looking for. I don't have drums but I have this Rubber thingy you put on your knee to hit with your drum sticks and I wanted to actually learn something.

Thank you soo much! I've been wanting to learn to play for a long time, and I have finally gotten the nerve to sneak on my Dad's drums, when he's at work. Now I have found someone to teach me!

-
@michael79331 Bet you don't want a drum kit any more?

You know what would REALLY be awesome? If you could put text on the video with what he's saying when he's drumming because you CAN'T HEAR WHAT HE'S SAYING. So frustrating to watch.

well i have the same problems and i started with chopsticks !! i didn't get to go to a place that sells drum sticks so i started with my chopsticks ! and i now can cover some songs without the drums and i think with the drums too ! and then when i proved to my parents that i can play the drums they agreed for me to buy a kit ! i am now raising money until i reach the price !! wish me luck !

What kind of drums did you use here?

@MatzuzakiLois In the video I'm playing a set of Roland V-Drums. They have the TD-10 brain with the TDW-1 expansion kit.

@michael79331 Start smaller, ask for drum sticks. Practice drum rudiments, learn to roll. You can even "fake" a drum kit, play your right hand on a pot, your left hand on a pad, tap your foot for the bass drum. Prove your serious. A lot of parents know they'll buy a kit and six months later it won't get used. Other parents don't want the noise. I used to drape towels over my cymbals and drums.
