You have to use the editor to insert camera tricks.
When you are in the camera editing mode (Media Tracker) click on "Switch to free camera" and adjust your camera view with the mouse. That will be the position of your camera. Then activate your camera track and click "Insert Block". Choose "Camera Path" as type and set the "Target" to "Local Player". Now the camera will keep track of the player.
